Today, we cycle our final stage on the Cassiar Highway, which has its northern end at the intersection with the Alaska Highway.

The mountains to the left and right of the road reach summit heights around 6600 ft / 2000 m.

North of Good Hope Lake, the landscape opens and the terrain becomes much flatter.

Here we cycle through forests that were badly affected by the forest fires of recent years.

As far as the eye can see, only burnt tree trunks. Noteworthy is also the many green that spreads on the ground and step by step recaptures the landscape.

Cycling acoss this section of endless burned forests gives us a impression the magnitude of the forest fires in this region. Scary.

At 60 degree of latitude, just a few miles before we reach the end of the Cassiar Highway and turn into Alaska Highway, we reach the Yukon border.
