The Western part of Astoria River Walks leads under the Astoria-Megler Bridge and requires highest concentration once again. The combination of moist wood and rails is very unpleasant in the rain.

In the north of Oregon, the coast is very steep; the difference in altitude between the sea level and the Highway 101 leading along the cliffs is very high. 1000 meters in altitude per day are not much on this terrain.
